One of my bala sharks eyes is huge

I just noticed it today. His left eye is fine but is right eye is pretty big. Lens is sticking out noticably. Is this a problem and what should I do?

definitely a problem. this is called popeye. if left untreated can result in eye or fish loss. i have found maracyn II to be great for popeye. usually comes from the fish getting scratched in the eye and bacteria getting in. it is not contagious, but you will want to use a hospital tank to cut down on the amount of meds required for treatment. use the treeatment for a full 7 days even if the symptons disappear.

I'm debating right now whether to go get some medicine. The actual eye does not seem to be dislodged but the lens or clear covering that look like a half globe almost is bigger than the other. Would it hurt them if i treated them for it and they did not have it? Do you know a site with any pictures?
