One More To Finish Off?

these would be a nice fish to add to your tank!

elongatus mpanga

tropheops chilumba

maylandia hajomalandi

maylandia zebra gold (mundola reef)

thanks i think ive seen the zebra gold so would i also be best off adding 1 or a few i currently have 12 in my 55g

hello mark. the maylandia hajomaylandi would be my first choice, I have posted a picture of my one, and its the one in the middle ofthe picture, I would personaly go for a male and two females.

my next choice would be the maylandia zebra gold, dont get it confused with the red zebra. this cichlid has chocolate coloured stripes while the rest of its body has a golden colour.

if it is it makes your tank just over 46 gallons.

that makes your tank just over 46 gallons. you can add more fish, but the trick to it is, good filtration, clean water and weekly water changes of atleast 25%. my tank is 150 gallons and i have about 130 fish, I rin a fluval fx5 and a eheim ecco. I do a water change every week of about 30%. I dont get too much fighting as as I have over stocked my tank.

got ya 46uk gallons i was working it out in us gallons as all the sites i was looking at cichlid stocking was working it out in us gallons.

I do a 25-30% water change every sunday on all of my t anks mate. I run a 600lph internal and a fluval 305 external which is 1000lph so i have alot of filtration. So what do u think i would be ok to add?

I am glad you spotted that, saves a debate hahahah. I would honestly suggest any of the fish I have suggested to you. if you have 12 fish then add 4 more, if you want to breed then add a male and female of 2 different types, if you dont want to breed then add a male of each. I could suggest fish to you all day long but its a case of what you like, and what is available to you. there is a great site called malawimayhem that will give you a description of most malawi fish.

cheers mate yeah its a bit of a drama buying cichlids here they dont know what they have always end up being summin different when i get it home ill look to getting some more i have a 10g tank ready for fry so dont mind them breeding i have 3 labs not sure of sex a 1m 2f aulonocara so maye i may get some more of something.

I know how you feel, I usualy have to spend the whole day to go collect fish, the last trip out was an all round drive of 8 hours. you need to establish what malawis you want to keep as aulonocara dont do to well in a mbuna set up, http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/haps_vs_mbuna.php read this and you cant go too far wrong, let me know what you think of it?

hey mark, how do you upload photos onto the screen?????????????

hey brewyn,

you know your photobucket right? well open it, minimize it, then open TFF to the reply area you want.

Now,.. see the little TREE icon ^^ up there? when you click it it asks for a URL.

In your photobucket find the picture you want to add and copy/paste (right click) on the URL for the picture you want, paste the URL in the TREE window and hit enter.

hope I didnt confuse the hell out of ya!

:hyper:

I will try that big mamma, watch this space, sorry, mamafish. :*
