one of my male sailfin's eye is really inflamed.

his left eye is like buldging out?

what could it be?

This could be due to a couple of things, he may have been injured ie. bumped into something or been fighting.

or it could be a bacterial infection which has caused "pop eye", if it is a bacterial infection then you wil need to medicate. look up "pop eye" oh the web and there are many treatments out there.

if it is just a bump then it hopefully will recover as long as the water parameters are good.

thanks

im really worried because im not a major fish guru, although i am learning all the time.

his eye is buldging out a fair bit. i doubt it would be from a fight or hitting something. i checked out pics of pop eye and it looks a little similar, although the pics i saw were like REALLY buldged like a cyst or something.

i dnt have another tank to put him in and i dnt want my other fish to die.

im from australia, what sort of medication could you reccommend?

i need him to make more speckled babies :D
the speckled female must have had her babies when i wasnt ready today and she wasnt in her net! no survivors

il post a pic

i don't know what medication is available in Australia, hopefully someone else on here will be able to assist with that. sorry.

Hope all turns out OK.

his fins underneath are that clamped/stuck together thing too...

is he going to die?

il post pics on my next post

i took them on my mobile and i have to wait for them to go to my email. they arent the best quality but hopefully you can see.

hopefully this works...

thats what mine looked like. treated it, can't rember with what but it was quite expsensive. she is still going after 6 months i think. but my mollys are not the healthy of fish, always got some thing. but thats what happens when they are not in an ideal environment. (in brakish water?)

I cant say from the photo what is wrong with it. hopefully someone with more experience in fish treatment will help.
Post this on the fish emergency section, hopefully someone like Wilder will helpyou.

thanks guys

the only thing ive done differently recently was add some plants. could that be a problem?

the only spare tank i could find was one of those floating breeding ones. i know he is still using the same water, but he is isolated from other fish atleast.

he is the only one with it so far

btw...

what is brakish water?

slightly salty water, i didn't know that either untill i had them. but couldn't add salt as some of the other fish wouldn't tollarate it. like my corrys

Brackish water is a mix of sea water and fresh water, found in estuaries usually. there is a Brackish section on this forum if you want to learn more :)
