Was cleanign and had a wee peek in the tank and seen my clown loach at the intake pipe ( i don't have the correct one as my granda can't find it at present ) i noticed it's tail was up the pipe so stuck hand it to catch him and get him out and up the pipe he went

So i kinda freaked a lil disconnected the filter took it all apart and went fishing in the filter i've so far found around 6 neons 2 red wags and my 3 danio's that have been missing for the last month ish !!!

no sign of clown loach yet so thinking it may still be stuck in the pipe

The water in the filter is very mu7rky and brown if i clean the water do i just fill it back up with water from the tank ? and do i just cl4ean the media etc in tank water too ?

The emotions i'm feeling is bloody unreal can't believe they've survived

And on the off chance do3es an6yone know where i can get the correct pick up pipe for an eheim pro 2226 ? or does anyone have lying around i can have ? lol

I'm a newbie too and my coolie loach did the same thing as your fella: decided to investigate the inner workings of the pump!

I can't help you with the water question, but what I've done is nipped to B&Q, bought a large pond net and I'm gonna cut the net off and make a 'sock' for my pump so that no other fishies decide to be nosey...

Yes, refill with tank water, and clean media in tank water...

PLEASE

yep, take a bucket of tank water and clean the media in this,
then reconnect the filter and reprime it using the button
and then top up the tank with fresh dechlorinated water

Thank you veryone for your help cleaned out filter found 9 neons (one was dead ) 2 red wags and my 3 danio's clown loach had got stuck in the pipe and was dead

Went up into my granda's loft and found the correct pipe within 2 minutes which showed how hard he'd looked ! lol

Tank looks much clearer and all fish are ok done a wee rescape too lol Hopefully get some pics up tonight
