Omg I Can't Believe How Lucky This Is!

Been worried about homing Jai happily as you know.

Can't put a 1g on the tank lights to keep him warm, so mmmm.....

Anyway, found this 1.5g Aqua Box and it said 8" on the website and 27 high as it has an overhead lamp with it AND a built in filter, but I had a space of 7.4" right above my kitchen sink, he would have been so happy but not wide enough and was really upset about it!!

OK so I bought it anyway thinking maybe I would put it somewhere else.

It only fits PERFECTLY!!! It wasn't 8" at all it was 7.4" would you believe!!!

Not only that, but my hydor junior heater which is made for 2-5g actually heats the water to 81 in a 1.5g so Jai is gonna be so happy when he gets in there. I'll post pics later!!!

How lucky is that?!

Wow! I've actually been looking at getting one of those for my biggie, Rascal. When I move her into my sorority, i want to put my ADF's in there so i can see them better. Little hiding frogs lol. How does it work?

Well so far it LOOKS fabulous. Another milimetre and it wouldn't have fitted at all. It's a proper oasis, got a thin layer of black mini gravel with the heater hiding underneath it and a superb resin log/cave with satin plants shooting out of it.

The only problem is the impeller in the filter makes a horrible noise and I've tried the usual airlock shannanigans but it's still doing it.

I have some small magni filters arriving that have spray bars, so I can maybe use one of those, but it's annoying really because it has an integral filter I might not be able to use.

I won't use the light until the weather gets cooler because the temp is high enough in there.

Also added a very baby leopard ramshorn to the tank.

Amazing!! It fits perfectly. YAY! Looks good!! I bet Jai will be a happy betta there!!

I know it looks like there's an inch at the side and in front, but it's actually recessed, so that's an edging, the tank itself fits inside the inch wide beading and you can't even slide a piece of card in between the tank and the beading, it was meant to be eh!

It was £20 and I got it from a local homeware store that sells a bit of everything, but my LFS sometimes has them and if you google Aquabox you will come across some on the internet I'm sure. There is 1 on Ebay, but it's another £7.95 P&P which seems a bit daft if you can pick it up locally x

I have those silk plants in with my red boy, is the green one a real plant? if it is I has this too in my main tank and I do think it is aquairim plant
