as some of u will know i lost a huge quantity of fish this weekend ... i have updated my sig and that is what im left with ... at the mo all seems well and as the fugus that killed them spread so rapid im hoping its done its damage and my treatment worked. the last sick fish died yesterday .

i need some advice on what to re-stock with guys pls ... the crabs had to go but they survived and the lfs took them back :(

im waiting till next week to re stock btw

I would wait at least 3 weeks before you add any more fish to be on the safe side and carry on with water changes ot dilute the fungus in the tank.

I agree with wilder, even if you are sure of what killed your fish the longer you wait before adding new ones the smaller the risk of the desease re-appearing.
I would say a 2week minimum wait to be sure.
You can buy a med called liquisel(correct me if im wrong) which helps lower dangerous bacteria levels in the tank apparently.

Deffinately agree with the above posts, DO NOT add any new fish yet.

Once you are sure everything is running ok, I would get at least 6 more neons, if not 10 more.
Also, I think a couple more Clown loaches would give the existing one some good company.
The USD Cat will also do well to get some friends, at least 2 more.

Ben

I agree get 6-10 more neons, and maybe another 1 to 3 platys or either that get rid of the existing platy and get 3 more swortails or vice versa.
Or could just rehome the fish groups that need adding to and go for somthing completely new.
What kind of fish are you into i.e catfish, livebearers, tetras, cilchilds etc?

build up the neons and mabe get the platy and swordtail a friend each!id wait 3-4 weeks to be safe!!!

right well i re homed my remaining fishes and i now have a malawi cichlid tank . buffered using bi carb and also have added some limestone rock in there to maintain a ph of 8.0 - 8.2 ... looking good :D
