We just set up a 29 gallon freshwater aquarium this weekend. It's going to be mainly semi-aggressives with a few tropical-community members. I'm completely new to fishkeeping but my partner has done this before, years ago. It seems to be actually kind of fun.

So far the denizens of our little coral reef community (that's the motif even though it's fw) are a Tiger Barb, Plecto, Bala Shark, Rainbow Shark, and Black Molly. We plan on adding an Angelfish and Blue Gourami and several others as we go along.

lol yes and it will be fun but im not sure about angels with blue gouramis

Oh yes? If you mean the semi-aggressive vs. tropical-community breeds, we talked about that with the guy at the store. He said as long as there is enough hiding space for the shy fish and we have only a few shy breeds compared to semi-aggressives, it would be OK. Is that what you mean? And we do have plenty of hiding places.
