hey guys i want an action packed monday going to shops on the hunt for geophagus really most types of surinemesis considered but hoping for some larger proximus! the two places i think i will venture to are the following:
woodcoat green
abacus aquatics
swallow aquatics gravesend
swallow rayleigh

any other suggestions?

There is one in Enfield that's normally good for geos.....but can't recall the name!

Wildwoods!

Swallow Aquatics in Tenterden are also good. Though sometimes they have lots of not commonly seen fish and zero of really common ones (e.g. dwarf gourami) so might be a good idea to ring ahead.

i'm trying to weigh up whether to go to to wildwoods which currently shows them not having really type of geophagus i'm after or going just to world of water romsey as they have proximus and true parrot for sale but would be a round trip of 6 hours!

You have probably thought of this but considering the bank holiday it would be wise to check opening times......and then you can also enquire about stock

yeah the only shame with the world of water romsey is it actually isn't a world of water if it was i could get 25% off!

Coincidentally, I notice you're from Rye, I live in Hastings, yet at the moment I'm back home a few miles from Romsey. Thanks for alerting me to the existence of World of Water in Romsey. I've only just returned to fishkeeping since I was a teenager and had forgotten I used to go there.

Good luck with your trip. Yes, Romsey is a six-hour round trip but it's a lovely part of the world. Have a nice lunch in Stockbridge High Street. Beautiful.

Hey Martyn, I live in Hastings too! Small world :)

If you're thinking of going to Swallow Aquatics in Rayleigh, you will probably spend most of the day travelling.
The Dartford River Crossing and the M25 are two places I would certainly stay clear of on a Bank Holiday weekend.

I will therefore 'friend' you and we can be in touch if we ever needed seeded filter media or somesuch.

Liam, if you are making a special effort to visit Romsey from Hasting, you must call into Aquajardin in Fairoak (not far from J7 on the M27), I have not been a while because of no car but the place is an "Aladdins cave" for less common hobby fish.

Called in at ark aquatics in gillingham and aylesford aquatics near maidstone today, would recommend both for a look round.
