There is a strong odor in the tank..I guess you would describe it as an algae type smell..All H20 testing is good..Right on the money and regular H20 changes are done..No algae present at the moment..Is this a normal smell or should there be none?

No plants only plastic...Earthy smell that is a good description...Ammonia is at 0...I had that in a 10g. that i had before i set up this tank but it went away w/ an H20 change...This change was done 3 days ago..ThanksIts might just be the smell given off by the food your giving.
Have you got any plants in there? Maybe a pet store has given you a not aquatic plants which is rotting.
Just guessing but that may be the case if you have plants.

A cycled tank will usually have a slightly earthy smell, sort of like rich potting soil. Some people like the smell, some people don't. You do get used to it as a good smell, either way. If the ammonia level isn't zero, the tank will start to smell like a dirty toilet.
i'd go with what he says
