odds and ends

tom dang and son. i was trying to get a good shot for fathers day but they kept moving around way too much. i gotta say that i was amazed at dad's fin span when he saw the spliting image of himself in his son, truly one and the same these two.

yet another doubletail son of tom dang, we called him hotrod because he has this unique pattern on his top and bottom fins that i thought looked kinda like flames. he was snatched up by a friend a week ago though, sad to see him go.

crowntail fry frenzy. we ended up with a spawn of 600+, we gave away 300 of the ones we considered "cullable" to a friend who will raise them. still, we have a lot of crowntails in our near future

more of the same, some of them are starting to ray out now, from what i can tell too, we will end up with some greens along with a majority of blues and even some reds i figure, still kinda early to know for sure.

this next set of pics are of what i realize now are very hard fish to take pics of, the camera i am using can in no way get in close enough to get a good pic and the fish are in their "zoom around the tank" mode right now

wild type imbellis trio. two females and one lucky male. they actually swim around together, no hostility whatsoever.

thank's kelly one day i will buy a nice camera, for now, i try to do the best i can with whats at hand. i have the utmost respect for those of you out there that blow me away on a regular basis with your awesome fish pics, it's not easy

yah, it's a lot of work, not recommended unless you have a lot of time to spare.

splendens vs. imbellis. not really, i just wanted to compare the two species and see what the reaction was. the wild type is a lot smaller as you can tell "tahan" the copper didn't really seem to take the new guy all that seriously.
