Odd Combinations

Interested to know if anyone has managed to successfully keep odd combinations of fish together?

What I mean is, fish that shouldn't really be housed together but it worked for you?

I seem to have problems keeping fish that ARE supposed to be together , but a mate has a 95L with, and this may not be a complete list,

1 blood parrot cichlid,
2 shark cats (the ones with the long barbel whiskers type things about 6 or 7 inches each),
4 fully grown Tiger Barbs,
a male betta,
a sailfin molly,
1 harlquin rasbora,
1 zebra danio,
an african butterfly fish,
2 large bleeding heart tetras,
2 marble angels,
a few guppies
nd more that I can't remember!

and they all get along fine for some reason!

Probably my strangest was keeping a Betta and Angelfish together. I had to put the Betta in the tank after an emergency happened with his tank. They were all fine and dandy, the Betta even started hanging around the Angels like he was one of them. I wouldn't ever try this again myself, though! I think the reason it worked out was the Angels were young, and the Betta was a short-finned Plakat.
