Now With Pics! Housing Male And Female Together...

Thanks.

We were sold him as a very young female and soon became apparent that he was most definately male lol and gave us some lovely babies.

It can takes weeks and weeks for a tank to cycle unless you can add some mature filter media from another established tank.

You can keep him in there as long as you do water changes regularly (daily or every other day) and test the water regularly to keep an eye on the stats.

He really is lovely and will be a stunning boy when he's fully grown.

Yeah he was in the female tank and i said "can i have that female betta". Guess they didnt know. can take water out of the tank he is in currently and also my other betta divided tank. The filter is new so i will need to soak it in a bucket of tank water for a few days or so. The gravel and tank have been used before and not rinsed...just stored in the garage. How big will he grow? Will he fit in a divided tank or need his own? The tank i am going to set up today is an aqua start 320.

Hes finally come out to the front of the tank and swum round but i think only coz the rest of the tank is having their arvo nap lol. I think im still going to give him his own tank so he can grow big and not have to worry about fish 20 times his size!

He will be fine in the tank you're planning to set up. In fact this is Diesel in the exact same tank lol the sillouette on the left.

You don't have to soak the new filter. You can cut a piece of media out of your old filter if you have one and swap it into the new one.

Yeah i have my pink aqua one split into two like yours with my two vtails :)

I want going to split it but i wouldnt mind either another PK (i think you said thats what he was) or a proper female lol.
