I have been reading up on planted aquariums and I have finally made my decision on getting one for my oldest (and first!) tank. It is a 36" 30gl, and I have been looking at the Nova Extreme T-5 Fixtures. They have come on sale on http://www.drsfostersmith.com/ and I want to know if anyone has used them for planted tanks and if so, if they work well. I know they are really for saltwater reef tanks, but I like their price and would like to hear any reviews from the planted side.

Lunar lighting is nice too. :good:

PS: here is the link to DRF&S page on these lights: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod...p;N=2004+113175

I know that I really shouldn't "bump" this thread, but I would really like some input from you guys. I want to order the lights in the next few days, but I don't want to do it and have lights that are crappy, basically.

Thank you.

Not used them personally but they look good to me. You'd need to replace the light tubes to ones designed for plants.
