Not New To This But Whats Happening

OK so im a Science teacher so I shoudl really know this but...

my alkalinity is getting worse. check these stats

I did add some more ammonia in the other day because I had low ammonia stats but 0ppm on nitrate and nitrite. I only added a little bit, litrally dipped the teaspoon in and back out.

Firstly check out your tap water. If that checks out ok look towards suspect tank decor, normally rocks. Anything containing calcium will do it, the acid test, (pardon the pun), is to add a little vinegar to each rock and wait for a reaction, normally bubbling. If your rocks are ok then it has to be down to your substrate, what are you using?
