i will be going away for 4 days at the end of this week and i cant seem to find anybody to feed my fish or anyone i trust enough in my house when im not guna be home!(bad times)

i was wondering if my fish will be ok for 4 days without food? i dont even have a light timer so would it be best with lights on or lights off?

i really didnt think about an light timer until now. #70### sakeeeeeeee

im guna run out tomorrow and try and find a timer for the lights. at least that will maintain some of the routine i have with the lights

will any timer do? like a standard house lamp timer for when your on holiday?

The fish will be fine for 4 days. If you aren't able to get a timer before you leave, leave the lights off. Yes, any timer will work (the one from Wilko in the link would be fine):good:

For the record, fish will be OK without food for about 10 days; only after that does it get a bit iffy. Feed them up a couple nights before you go away but remember any left over food will throw your water stats of even further :good:

yeah its really bad timing me having to leave when my water stats are so messed up. it was sprung on me about ab hour ago and ive been pondering what to do since

80% water change on the morning you have to leave, and fingers crossed it should be OK. 80% water change when you get back and 50% water change the day after, checking your water as often as possible. :good:
