thought these fish were very eye catching although i've only seen them in a P@H store near me a couple of times, i want to get a nice big school of them how many would you recommend for a 64 litre ? thats including a small plec of some sort or a dwarf cichlid (some kind of apisto i reckon) to occupy the bottm part of my tank. oh and one more question would these fish be fine with a betta or not ?

many thanks :D

No on the betta. I'd go with 8-12 lampeyes with a rubberlip pleco and maybe a pair of agazzisi.

I started off with a dozen in a Fluval Edge and a few Cherry Shrimp now I have at least twenty hard to count though, they are lovely little fish I think they deserve a species only tank.

If this pleco is indeed a "Rubbernose" it needs far more specialized condition than are suitable for Lampeye killifish or most dwarf cichlids. Chaetostoma spp. are the mainly Central American equivalent of Asian "Hillstream Loaches" which in a suitably sized tank could work well with riverine fish like my Steatcocranus casuarius/tinanti and Synodontis brichardi/flavitaeniata.

If kylealastairlove truely does not know what pleco they already have, I would suggest getting some decent side on photos of the whole fish and then start a thread in the catfish section, where we might be able to give you some sort of idea of the ID.
