Hi .. again... I'm being a pain today.

I've spotted a perfect nano on ebay, very cheap, however from the pic is seems that all the glass bottom is touching the surface it's stood on (a non-floating base?). Am I correct in thinking that this means I have to get some of that foam base stuff?

how many litres?

for most nano tanks i cant imagine the weight is that much and if the surface you have is nice and flat, i wouldnt worry too much. that said, a bit of cardboard/carpet/poly cant hurt.

it says its around 25 litres, but I've just used the calculator on here and it says 32 o_O maybe they're measuring with the light unit on... I'll get some foam from the lfs to put underneath it. Better safe than sorry

Foam is a good idea. Have known people to use cork board, carpet, lino.

Always best to sit it on somthing soft like foam, polystyrene, cork etc. It just in case you get a grain of sand or a small stone under the tank when you fill it, without a underlay all the wieght & pressure is on that one tiny spot & "crack".
