Hi Guys,

I've had my external filter (Eheim pro II) running on my main tank, and the Impellor/powerhead is running fairly loudly, and was wondering if I've done something wrong or if it was faulty. The filter seems to run fine with a decent waterflow, picking up plenty of debris that finds it way into the tank. But it runs quite noisily (particularly noticed at night as the tank is in my bedroom). Also at startup following a waterchange the imellor seems to be catching on something for a second orso before it kicks in and pumps normally.

Any help appreciated :)

Hi there i have the eheim pro 2 2028 external filter had a similar problem, what you need to do is take out the impeller from the unit, and make sure nothing is clogged it slots straight out and has got a magnetic catch for it to fall back in.

When you turn the pump back on it always makes a clicking sound, its just because its such a narrow hole, and once starts spinning itll be fine.

Also make sure in the pump box theres a little bit of grease for the impeller lightly apply some to the impeller should help a little.

Usually with eheim theyre very good and they either work or they dont, if its working doing everything fine then its likeley to be something small catching.

Give it a try let us know how u get on
