Hi, I have a Tetratec 150 air pump which I installed on Thursday - No Problems.

The air stone I used is like a block (similar to a "Toblerone" shape), which produces a wall of bubbles that rise to the surface.

However since yesterday it has begun to make a really annoying high pitched whistling sound (similar to what my U3 internal filter made if it got air in it) and its driving me mad.

Please note, its not coming from the actual pump itself, it's definitely the air stone. I can even hear it through the aquarium glass.

Anyone had this or have any ideas to fix it??

Thanks

what saltnay said. but it could be a faulty none-return valve too. take it off and blow through (in the right direction of course) if its hard to blow, ot makes a noise, junk it and get another one. another explanation could be the air produced by the pump it more than the air stone can take. this may, on some pumps, cause the pumps safety valve to open. sometimes they whistle too.
