No Other Options Now

I desperately need to do some water changes as my tank is still cycling but have no dechlor and it wont arrive for a few more days yet so whats gonna bemore harmful to my little fishies,
(a) not doing any water changes until my dechlor turns up

or

(B) doing a couple of 15-20% water changes using straight tap water?

I know there have been countless topics on this (most of which from me lol) I just want to know whats going to be more harmful to them

you cycle with fish in your tank?

distilled water, or deionized water for the time being.

do you mean bottled water?/?

I didnt intend to cycle with them in, as explained before (and I stillkeep getting told off lol) I had some pretty shoddy advice from pets at home about cycling so chucked my fish in after about 1 week so unfortunately now im fish cycling (I only found this website after setting up)

Can you get to your LFS to by some water treatment product?

What level is the ammonia and nitrite at the moment?

Chloride (spelling) will dissipate from water in a few hours so you could fill a bucket or two with tap water and leave it overnight (If you have an airstone run this in it to help). This does not get rid of the other chemical that some water companies use though (cant remember the name but very similar) so its a bit of a risk. Adding either is likely to kill off the bacteria and set back your cycle process.

hmmm we only have chlorine in our water, the other is chloramine, which we dont have.

I can get to an lfs but dont have any money hence why I had to order some online through ebay (I sold some stuff on there to get some funds).

if you don't have chloramine, you will be fine, just go ahead and stand some water, then do your normal water changes.

just double checked with water board they do put in a little chlorine but nothing else, not sure I can wait 24 hours to stand some water so might just have to do a couple small chnages now with water straight from tap

lots of oxygenation will help dissipate the chlorine faster.....
