I am Kind of frustrated at this point some may recall I had two recent posts on stocking 2 of my tanks and the things I decided on just are not availiable in my area and buying offline for them is wayyyyy outta my price range. so afetr doing a little more research and looking at the fish actually availiable to me I wanted to bounce another stocking idea off you guys

75 gallon tank heavily planted on one side (anubias, jungle val, Undulatus, Purple cambaba, mondo grass ,and frogbit) with a cave structure of about 9 lava rock and slate caves on the other and a medium driftwood center piece that has two clumps of javamoss ziptied to it trying to attach and grow.

occupants.

Sengalus Bicir (6.5 inches)
Jack Dempsy (5.5 inches)
Blood Parrot (5 inches)
Bristlenose Pleco (4.5 inches)

The current occupants get along obscenely well I wanted to attempt add elliot ciclids some people told me it was okay others had issues with it but it is moot because non of my LFS even have them as an orderable fish. So unless I get lucky at a local fish groups auction next week they are simply not going to happen Someone had suggested trying barbs or danios. Danios do not fit temperature wise and a lot of barbs are to big for me to have the size school I should for them to be happy and less aggressive. Tiger barbs However seem ideal to me.

So Proposed addition is:
10 Tiger barbs

At 3 inches and with thier wide body style. I think they will be to big for the dempsy or bichir to gobble(I could be wrong but I think both stick to fish that are mouth sized). Everything I have read says they are not aggressive in large schools. They have a similar diet. They fit the temperature of the tank (keep at 80 it fits in the comfort range of all inhabitants). All around they seem ideal to my research. Just wanted to see if anyone here had experience with them and could enlighten me a bit more.
Thanks.

Only thing I would question would be the Senegalus - I would look for the biggest barbs you can find - if you are dead set on Tigers okay but there are a good selection of barbs of the same size or larger that would work in your tank like Denisons, Ruby, Rosy, Spanner or Auralis - Rainbow Fish would work nice as well like Reds or Bosmani.

Tell you what would look brilliant in that tank - a trio or so of Pictus Catfish :)

May be able to pull off denisons but like with the spanners I just do not have room for the numbers I should have. I was going to do tigers because of the size of school I could get away with. from what I understood barbs need large numbers to control them potentialy being nippy. Dunno about rainbows at my tanks temp most seem to cap at 76-79 that I can find info on. For the 4 I have now the only temp that is realy viable is 80 deg :-/. The tigers fit that temp as well.

I had never considered the cat at all they are definately a posability I dunno if I could do 3 though. The stuff I read on them just now suggested 125ish for a trio. Would 1 be okay by itself or are they testy when they are solo? I think they are a pretty fish and wouldnt mind adding one

IMO in a 75 those barbs would work pretty good but upto what you choose :) Again I would have no problems with a trio of Pim Pictus in a 75g but upto you again, I have seen it work in quite a few tanks.
