No Bubble Nest?

I transported my betta from his 1 gallon tank to a 10 gallon tank about 2 weeks ago. He no longer makes a bubblenest. is something wrong with him? 8)

Is he by himself in the 10 gallon? If he has tank mates, that could be the problem. If he doesn't, it could just be that there's too much space for him. I've had a betta go from a 1 gallon to a ten gallon and sulk for a week until I put him back into the smaller tank. Maybe that's it?

Is there a filter in the 10 gallon? If so, he probably can't make a nest because there's too much water movement. Otherwise, he's probably just adjusting to his new home. As long as nothing is "wrong" with him other than the lack of bubblenest, I wouldn't worry about him.

Lack of a bubblenest doesn't mean anything is wrong.

I had to float some styrofoam in my males tanks before they made another (or their first) bubblenest.
Maybe he just wants something to make it under.

My betta Raj (RIP)... he never made a bubblenest until one day when I temporarily put a wide leaf sag plant in his side. The leaves of the plant reached the top of the tank, and he instantly created his first little nest under one of them
It's the same with my betta Sherbert and seems to be the case for my other boy Rex as well.

all my boys have made bubble nests at one point in their lives. Most of them do it when they are happy. When they get old they usually stop!

I have a betta that just refuses to make a bubble nest..... he's certainly happy and "over-cared-for" . my other guys make bubbles nests religiously.

I have one guy that will fill at least 1/3 of his 5 gal tank with a bubble nest (filter permitting).... and if i accidentally destroy it during water changes or the filter gets a hold of it, it's brand new by morning. One of my other guys just does not even attempt to make one.

Not a big deal... just different personalities.

when I use to have my betta (kronos) in a 1 G tank, hed make one all the time. but now...none.

to greater or lesser extent, most of them do yeh, not all males do, and some males dont make spectacular nests, others build huge nests. my HM makes huge nests in the abcence of a female, but with a female hes prety lazy
