Nitrites

New to the hobby and have high nitrites. What should I do?

Hi and welcome to the forum

If you ever get any ammonia or nitrite readings above 0, or a nitrate reading above 20ppm, do a 75% water change and gravel clean the substrate each day until the levels are back to 0.

Make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it is added to the tank.

You can also try adding live plants to your tank they will absorb ammonia and help with your water quality. Floating plants like hornwort will help. But do your water changes too.
