Nitrite

i still can get the nitrite down past 0.25ppm i did another 1/3 water change this morning and checked it this evening and it is still 0.25ppm i added some more amquel but this is the 3rd day in a row so i really dont wanna add any more the fish do not look in a good way somebody have ne ideas as to what i can do??????

amquel what does the product do actually, i would stop using it as it seems to be making matter worse.
Think we need to look at other areas.
How long hs the tank been set up.
How any fish and which type.
How many gallons or litres is the tank.

only a week i didnt realise that i had to add fish gradually so put all in at once. It 100L so about 23G i have

3x mollies
1x skunk cory
2x albino cory
1xbala shark
1xangel fish
1xblue ram
1xclown loach
2xdwarf gourami

All these fish are tiny 2" maximum the only reason i have all them is because i alse have a juwel trigon 350 that i bought today and im going to wit a couple of months and set it up.

Well it explains everything, i would get the tank up now and start cycling it, as bala sharks and clown loaches need big tanks or they get stressed.
Yes broken the rules big time, to many fish all you should of started with is the mollies.
You migh have be prepared to lose some fish, or ask the lfs to look after the fish for you all by the mollies.

i know they will grow thats why i got the bigger tank so i could have more but at the minute there about 1 1/2" so its not im over stocked its to many to soon so what could i do???

It not the fact that they are little, it's the water quality, them fish are not cycling fish, there isnt many that are, they have to go through the ammonia process, then the nitrite which raises then goes down to 0.
It takes the toll on the fish even causing there immune system to shut down.
Do you know anybody with a cycled tank.

no i dont i dont have any ammonia and my nitrite was at 5ppm on monday and i got that down and its now at 0.25ppm so am i not nearly at the end of the cycle???

I doubt it in a week, though never know, can you post all your stats again.
Though you could be with the amount of fish in there.

Best thing cut back on water changes and if stats go up, it isn't cycled.

just done a test ammonia 0ppm nitrite 0ppm nitrate between 0-5ppm and ph 6.6 and my clown loach has just died :(

i did put some amquel in tonight though

Sorry about the clown loach. R.I.P.
According to them tests the tank has cycled.

i had those the other night then by the morning the nitrite was back at 0.25 clown loach is still alive just on its side breathing really fasy

Don't test after a water change or you willl get false result, best to test before a water change, increase aeration, not sounding to good the clown sorry.
Can you issolae him as you don't want the tank coming down with whitespot which clown are easily prone to when stressed.

Yes as you are meant to do that once a week, and it keep the filter flowing.
