Nitrate Levels

Ok can you answer some of the questions above.
 
its a tetra test 5 in 1 (prob crap)
i cleaned out ma filter sponges just yesterday with water from tank i have also go aqua plus water conditioner but only used that when inroducing new fish the tank has been running for three months two with fish in it all gradually added and no sighs of any herassment in the fish
thanks for all the help will ask on ere before doing any thing else i was going to get a bigger tank as i love fish have had them all my life but never got into all the stuff in here so broparly been mistreating them but i know now so hopfully i can get better at keeping them

Invest in a master liquid test kit.
yes them test strips are useless not that accurate.
Need to use water conditioner on every water change.
I would invest in a fluval 4.

I haven't had much luck with the test strips. My dealer tested my water at 80 nitrates with strips, I went home and tested the same water at 10 using the liquid test kit. Don T.
 
Broxiebear, you say you only add AquaPlus when adding new fish; if that's a dechlorinator, you need to add it to fresh water at every water change.
