Nice Surprise

Well.

I woke up this morning, Checked on my planted community. And out the corner of my eye saw something move, Wondered what it was so stared at the tank for a while.

Then spotted a Platty fry. only seen one i think, Unless its a different one, My guppy babies are nicely grown up. Didnt realise how big they had got untill i saw this lieel guy just now.

Awesome.

Thought i would share.

Dont know hwo many there are like i said only seen 1 i think.

Thanks mate, Just got back from work, and been trying to spot any for about 10 - 15 minutes on and off. Cant see a single little fella. Appart from my guppy fry wich are pretty much not fry anymore

Grrr there good little hiders as you know from my TOTM entry the tank has lots of space too hide.

They could well have, Hopefully not though. There is plenty of hiding places in the tank, And the plants are dence round the sides and back. So hopefully not. When my guppy fry were young they stayed well clear. But i did notice a frenzy going on at the back of the tank yesterday. So could well have been them getting chased.

Lets hope for the best I will be gutted if i dont find them.

Exciting to find fry, eh?

I had a similar surprise yesterday - 3 pairs of my SB pink convicts had huge batches of fry in their nests. I'm used to seeing fry in the tank every 2-3 weeks, but for all of them to have fry at the same time is going to be interesting to watch!

I guess they must be happy in their new home! Mind you, the fry won't survive long (they will get eaten) and there's no way I could keep saving them all. I did save a couple of fry a few weeks ago and they are doing well in a separate tank. Those have been promised to my LFS when they are a bit bigger.

I would have thought mine would be OK judging how much plant's and hidy holes i have in there. But cant seem too find any. Got a glimpse of one erlier. But thats it. Dont think there is many.
