Hey all. I recently sold some fish, and now that I have two 10 gallon tanks fully cycled and ready to go, I plan on breeding some more strains. I just don't know what strains to breed. Any suggestions?

This will be a nice side project, as I figured I have some empty 10 gallons, I might as well throw some guppies in there and just let them make a colony. I did that with some other strains just recently, I put about 6 guppies in and they made like 3 generations. I have now about 30-40. I moved them all to an outdoor aquatic plant nursery outside that I dirted. So I will probably just throw the guppies in and let them sit and breed on their own. I don't have a budget, but obviously I don't want some show quality guppies/endlers.

I might make 1 tank a shrimp tank only. Idk

Suggestions!!!

the easy to breed fish are the cheap selling ones, a shrimp tank is a great idea, but if your looking to sell them for medium amounts of money, they wont be great... you could breed some small cichlid for an actual profit though, like electric yellow cichlids. something similar, if your into that, bristlenose plecos are also a good profit.

Also, Hybrid Albino Snake Endlers are in high demand and are well sought after

Do you breed fish?

I mentioned I just want a guppy species or an endler species to just throw in there and let them breed on their own.

oh sorry XD I used to breed fish but most of the time it was on accident (shh) but I did used to breed neon tetras at one point, not easy not hard but I was a noob

I'd recommend you go to your local fish stockist and select a couple of male and four or more female guppies that have the the colouring you like and let the party begin.

Choose females on the larger side which look healthy and capable of bearing several batches of fry.

There's no guarantee that they won't be pregnant already, but that just makes it interesting with all the different colour combinations that are available

Guppies seem to be both tolerant and forgiving in relation to tank conditions, within reason, so you'll have your first litter of nippers before you know it, as long as you take steps to separate it from its hungry parents when it emerges.

Good luck, or rather, good management

Not if you are trying to breed a specific type of Guppy.

I get the impression that the OP is not particularly concerned about "specific type" for breeding purposes.

Perhaps he could clarify that.

Guys I know how to breed guppies/endlers. I have, multiple times..

I'm only asking for strains. A strain is a type of known color, for example a well known breeder's strain that is 100% his strain and has been selectively bred based on the best traits, or cobra lace guppies. I don't want to go to petsmart and purchase a handful of guppies. Then you get an ugly mish mash.

I just wanted suggestions STRAINS. COLOR PATTERNS. Thanks I'll go on aquabid and find some.
