i just took a few of my fish back to my lfs and saw a nic, so i managed to get it half priced:D anyway i did ask for a female
1) not as big
2) i believe to be more colourful.
the guy serving me did seem to know what he was talking about but i just want to check. what are they key things i'm looking for, i can't upload a picture at the moment as soon as i do my internet browser crashes. but when i do get a new one in a week or so i will post pics.

thanks

A male nic, will stay to the more blander colours of grey/yellow, whereas a female will go a beautiful blue/orange markings.

Here is a pic of my female nic,

If you find one of Davo's post, his avatar is his Male nic :good:

mine at the moment is only very small and i've read that they don't really get colourful until they are older but it is showing the blue and red in (i don't know the proper name) back fin towards the tail fin. is this a sign of being a female?

just thought i would let you guys know i just got back from swapping my male for a slightly larger female and shes stunning i shall call her dory. :D
