did a major wc around 9hrs ago, just tested for ammonia twice and its almost 0ppm. i'll try check it again in an hour. if it is still at 0ppm, what is the next step. im cycling my tank with fish

is it 0 or is it almost 0.....? if its zero and nitrites are 0 then the water is fine but anything above 0 means water change time again im affraid

If your cycling fish in, your main aim is to keep ammonia and nitrite as close to 0 as possible.

what is your reading for nitrite?

As your ammonia is at 0 your have probably passed through the ammonia spike but your nitrite may still be spiking, you now need to keep a careful eye on nitrite, ande cary on as you have been doing water changes to keep the level down.

If your ammonia and nitrite are both staying at 0, then just keep testing and if you see any ammonia or nitrite then do water changes,

The bench mark appears to be double zeros after 12 hours consecutively for a week
