Hello! I've been researching quite a bit on fish keeping and this site comes up often in my Google searches with the answers I need. I figured I might as well join and search directly for what I'm looking for. LOL

We have two five gallon tanks (glow fish for my son in one and guppies in the other) and a 35 gallon hex we have yet to fill. I've been doing a decent amount of research on what to put in the hex tank and have wound up terribly confused. But, I'd rather be confused and still researching than to fill it with the wrong fish.

Hope you enjoy things here on this forum and glad to have you on board.

Am very glad to hear that you are researching first before adding fish that may be unsuitable for your tanks, good one and keep up th good work, do ask if you're ever unsure about stocking suitability and compatibility as the experienced keepers are the best to ask ;)

I was excited to get the 35 gal hex, but have had conflicting suggestions on what to stock it with. I was thrilled with the thought of having a saltwater tank, but was quickly steered away from it.

Cichlids was another that I was told to not put in it because the tank is taller than it is wide. A gentleman at a reputable pet store suggested angels, but someone suggested it wouldn't be large enough for them, either.

I think I'm confusing myself more than I'm helping. I'm almost ready to buy 20 guppies and calling it good. :p
