Newbie With New Fish Tank Setup ( Roma 200 With Pics )

Hello been on here about a week and i got my tank Saturday and set it up Sunday and fort id show you all some pic's its a bit bare ATM because it has no plants or rocks in there but as I'm a landscape gardener at my yard there is bag's and bag's of rocks that I'm alowed to help myself to so iv got some of the type's i like the look off and i need to do a vinegar test to find out what i can and can't use the fish i want to keep are cichlids and a big pleco but im not sure what types to keep together i really want a fire mouth plus a big pleco so what els go's with them well? any help tips's or info will be greatly appreciated as im new to this :blush: thanks for reading and ill add updates and pics as i go along

P.S. one of my tubes was smashed so i took it back to the shop and they upgraded me to a jbl t8 30w color ( worth £20.49) and i got told its better for less algae! B-)

Looking good! Don't worry about the bubbles, they're common in new set-ups. They'll go away eventually.

Can't wait to see it scaped and stocked!
 
thanks mate ill be testing the rock's tomorrow and filling my car boot up Thursday :shifty:

yes i am but I'm a little bit stuck on what i have to do! need to try and find a good wright up on it but there are so many i don't no what to do for the best! i want fish in it ASAP! :crazy:

The add and wait method is what most people here use. Follow that thread and you cant go wrong.

yeah it's a really nice looking tank! can't wait to get all the stuff in! will be nicking ( i mean borrowing :rolleyes: ) the rock's from work tomorow as im just about to test the few i have here

on a nother note just went down to get some walter and squeez the sponge from my dad's tank and there was a dead platty stuck to the side of the filter! so i fort i better not! :angry:
 
ok so i have got all the rock from work but now im to scared to put them in my tank!! i really need to find out what sort they are but how :blink: :blush:

a lot of them if not most are granit i believe

except the ones in the bottom right corner there slate i believe

thanks mate! is it safe to use??and yea it is slate its about an inch thick so im planning on spliting it in half and makeing some cave's
 
well i believe its safe just have a look on google for pictures of granit just to verify what it is and search if its safe
