Newbie With Feeding Problem

Hi all

Im due to start a new job in a couple of weeks which will mean me staying away during the week, monday to friday. Ive been looking at etting an automatic feeder but cant find one which is sutible for my tank. I have an AQUA MODE 900 which has a canopy over the top, and all the automatic feeders ive seen on the market are for clipping on the side of the tank which i cant do on mine.

Does anyone have any suggestions to help me. I have looked at the seven day feeding blocks but not sure if there any good.

Please help me as i really dont want to have to get rid of my tank.

Don't get feeding blocks, they just screw up the water.

For 5 days fish are fine without food, especially if you have algae or plants in your tank, as they can nibble at them. Just feed well on the Sunday night and when you get back.

As above, feeding blocks are a no no! Maybe you can get someone to nip in, even if its just the once while your not there?
If not, yes a good feeding on Sunday night or even Monday morning, just remember not to overfeed as this can cause more problems than no food. Especially while your away. You should be fine though,

Thanks for the advice guys, didnt realise they would survive for that long, will get some real plants in the tank as i only have artificial ones at the moment.

If you fell unhappy leaving them for week, lightly blanch a slice of vegetable (most are fine) and leave it in there, remove it when you get back. But as has already been said its not that necessary if you're only leaving them for a week.

will you be leaving them from Monday-Friday every week, or just once? because long term being fed only 2 days per week will not be good for them.

yeah see i was thinking that, every week away mon-fri?
i would if thats the case either rehome/sell or get a trusted family/friend member to feed a couple of times a week..

I agree to. But yes, its quite amazing how small fish can survive so long without food! As long as they have a few scraps to have a go on
