Hi. I have just joined the forum but not new to fish keeping. I was brought up with tropical fresh water mainly and some Marine fish.
I have a biorb as I do not want to go big again like I did a few years ago. I used to have a large 5ft x 2ft x 2ft community tank along with 2 x 4ft tanks and a 3ft tank and a small tank for baby live bearers. It would be interesting to see if anyone close to me has any fresh water tropical fish too. :) I will be getting some more small fish for my tank shortly.

Thanks.
Bought some fish today. 6 x neon tetra's, 6 x Rummy Nose Tetra's, 3 x Platy's, 1 x Corydora, 1 x Sucking loach for clearing the algea. Tank looks a lot better with more than 2 fish in it. lol The originals are a Rummy nose and a Khooli loach.Oh, and a shrimp.
Other fish to buy are siamese fighters (male and female), perhaps mollies, swordtail, and a couple of other tetra's I think.

I'd try (if your tank size allows) to add more cories. (try to get 5+) What does the sucking loach look like? Some are viciously carnivorous, some get huge...algae eaters are a bit complicated xD

Those siamese fighters won't get along with each other or your stocks, just a warning.

You said in your first post that you have a biorb. Is it one of the round tanks or one of the newer square ones? The round type has a very small floor and is unsuitable for bottom dwellers. Biorbs also have rough 'stones' on the bottom which is a filter medium; this isn't suitable for fish like cories either, I'm afraid. Cories need smooth gravel or sand.

The biorb is a round one 60l. It does not have the sharp gravel that came with it but the smooth gravel as I like it better. The sucking loach is not a true sucking loach, but an algae eater that looks like the sucking loach. It is yellow in colour. The male siamese fighter has died. When I put him in the tank, he looked ok, but I thought his fins looked a bit threaded. I was unsure if that was the way he was. He must have been a poor fish. He is the first fish to die in this tank.  The female is doing well. I am thinking of getting a square tank so there is more room and I would be able to get more fish. I dont want to end up with lots of fish tanks like I had a few years ago. lol.
