Hello I am a freshwater hobbyist and not trememndously new at it.  I have a 55 gallon tank with 3 discus, 1 pleco, 1 bala shark and I started with 9 cardinal tetras that were disappearing and now are just dying.  I will be posting a question...

HI Nicole!

 to TFF!
Do you happen to know what species your pleco is?

Also your bala shark gets about 16" and needs a school of 6+, when they are adults they need a 8'+ tank.

Any questions just feel free to ask! :D

Thank you for the welcome.  It is a common pleco and rather big around 12".  We used to have two bala sharks and had one pass shortly after moving.  We weren't told that they would grow so big or that they were a schooling fish.  I posted something on the emergency forum because I am having a major problem with them.

Ill go to your other thread right now, but also know common plecos get 2' long, so it would be best to rehome him soon, esp. if hes already 12"

Actually im sorry but i would be of no help to you on your other thread :/
