Once again, thank you so much! So would a pair of Leleupi and a trio of Auritus be fine? (Sorry if this is way off. I can't find any real information on the Auritus) Will the Cichlids themselves take care of the algae or will I need something special for that? After doing research on algae eaters, none of them can fit in my PH range comfortably.

The source that I have says they grow to 5" at the very max. Here's the website i've been going off of www.sunpet.com. You can use a guest log in and view the products.

That site is WAYYY off for the fish I looked at. For the bumble bee cichlid it says a 30 gallon minimum and it only gets 5" which is a buncha hooey. It says the yellow labs are carnivores of which are omnivores. And they need more than a 30 gallon tank too. I tried to Quarantine 5 new yellow labs in a 30"L x 12"W x 18"H 29 gallon tank. They fought alot and 2 died in the QT tank. I think it was b/c of the constant bickering They showed no signs of illness.

I would not go by that website. Cichlid forum does not sell fish, just like we don't here on TFF, and we both have good information and people who know alot about cichlids. We are here to give advice and help you or anyone get a good tank together w/compatible fish in the right size tank. It helps prevent headaches in the future.

But since you're now looking at the fish I am able to get, would it be possible to pick out which ones i'm compatable with? I really hate having a 29 gallon tank. I'm so limited right now.

What about chosing from these? You're already doing the leleupi, so chose one or two more

• Julidochromis regani - 1 pair
• Neolamprologus leleupi - 1 pair
• 'Lamprologus' occelatus - 1 trio

OR

• Telmatocrhomis vittatus - 1 pair
• Lepidiolamprologus hecqui - 1 pair
• Synodontis petricola - 3

OR

You could aim to have two pairs of fish. Your choice: (Works for 29gal also)
• Julidochromis regani - 1 pair
• Neolamprologus leleupi - 1 pair
• 'Lamprologus occelatus- 1 trio

personally, I'd add a juli and a synodontis...if you can get a syno. lucipinnis they only get to 4" max.

I just don't know where i'd get those fish. I searched the Sunpet website and they don't have most of them. My lfs that supplies Tangs gets all their Tangs from Sunpet, so if Sunpet doesn't have them I don't know where I can get them. Do you know of any websites I can order fish from that will be able to supply all of these?

I really like the way the Synos look, but the price on some can be insane. Should I go with the upside-downs? I don't want to overstock but I know some catfish like to be in groups so is 2-3 okay?
