Hello everyone
My name is Jamie, I am 24 and live just outsite of Portsmouth in the UK, I am brand new and a complete newbie to the tropical fish scene.
On a recent visit to Marwell Zoo with my partner Elaina and seeing a tank there I instantly wanted my own tank, from Marwell we went to a local Marine Shop and I fell In love with Salt water fish. After leaving here and speaking to a few friends and Family who have kept tropical fish a long time ago they strongly advised me to start with Tropical fish, having had a good read around on the Internet and on TFF I am pleased to say I think I am making the right decision starting with Tropical Fish.
So that's it really, I underhand it isn't something I can rush into and am looking forward to being able to take my time with this and perfect a tank setup hopefully to provide an excellent environment for the Fish I choose.
Luckily I am able to start with what I think can be a descent size tank, I have a space with a width of 55" / 4ft 7" / 1.4 Meters (Measurements for the Imperial and metric people) which I am able to fill, the tank height is only restricted by the ceiling at 2.5 meters so plenty of room I think.
Now I am just left with the task of taking on as much information as I can along with sourcing a tank and starting equipment from some where.
I know I would like to setup a planted fish tank just to make my life that little bit easier
Look forward to sharing my progress, learning and speaking to you all.
Jamie
