Hey everybody, I'm new here.

I've been lurking for a little while but finally decided to join. I'm not super new to freshwater fish, but I keep going in and out of the hobby for various reasons (usually related to not being in one spot very long, and mostly due to university). I've had a freshwater tank of some sort going for at least eight years and worked in the fish department of a major pet store chain for about 4 years (because that means I knew a lot, right? ;)). Unfortunately, once I moved out and went to another city for university, I've had to bring my fish tank back and forth for the summer/school year or just leave it at home. At my proudest, I had a heavily planted 20 gallon freshwater tank with an assortment of community fish.

I love Kuhli loaches. Right now I have a fluval ebi that isn't quite finished cycling.

EDITED: More explanation and some photos!
This is my Ebi currently. It is NOT how it will be aquascaped in the future- I just hastily plunked the wood and such in so the loaches would have good hiding spaces. I will actually arranged things and buy more plants once the tank has been cycled for awhile and they are less stressed out. I had very little choice but to do a fish-in cycle because I needed to pick up my fish from home and couldn't bring my current tank with me. I've had the striped kuhli loaches for about 4-5 years now, the brown kuhlis for about 3-4 years, and the eel loach for about 3 years. There is also a smallish brown apple snail and a yamato shrimp in there. I'm testing and doing multiple water changes daily and also brought some old filter media with me...here's hoping we get the cycled finished soon and everyone makes it.

You can kind of see the brown kuhlis doing their circle-laps in the front of the tank:

A couple bad photos of my loaches (all but the eel loach). They were VERY hungry because I'm trying to limit feeding during the cycle:

A better photo of one of the loaches when I had him in my 20 gallon planted tank:

Also, here are some photos of fish that I sadly do not have anymore.

A platy - he was a super docile male:

Wow your fish were beautiful. Especally thoes loaches! I've never seen thoes specific kinds. Wish I could have gottem them myself but if my lfs did have them they would be to small to put in my tank without risking being eaten.

Welcome to the forum and I hope your tank continues to go well for you! :)
