i am planning to set up a juwel 240 tank in the new year, can anyone point me in the right direction of the best external filter for a fish onlt tank :fish: :fish:

Eheim pro, pro2, pro 3! dont get fluval all to fineky and pretty much waste of time. Although in the external i would only keep LR, phosphate remover and any other specialist media. Dont use ceramic ings or other things in carbon they become nitrate farms. :good:

although the ehime range is known as the best i would not say that the fluval fx5 is a bad filter  . and for he money you can' beat it , sorry . but as said the Eheim are very good, and if you can push to one then go for it . i myself have been looking at a wet/dry 2229 . these help to reduce he amount of nitrate. but still no as good as live rock.

thanx very much, been toyin with the eheim classic 2217 and the eheim ecco 2236. I know eheim is the best, suppose u cant get to much filtration!

Yer dont go for classics you can get more for just a bit more u see.
