Hello!

I just got 11 Livebearers for free. Three Guppies, and eight Platys. The Guppies are all males, but there's only one male Platy that I know of, one is too young to tell still. Three of the female platys are pregnant. One looks like she could drop any minute! I would post a picture but something's up, because there's no "attach files" button. I'm posting the picture on my blog.

And I just figured out how to put if here! So how long do you think before she drops? To me it looks like any minute, but I've never seen any kind of pregnant fish before, except in pictures, and videos. I read the knowing when your livebearer is going to drop post, and she's showing most of the signs that she's going to drop soon.

Any advice is helpful! Thank you! :)

Awesome! Like I said I've never had livebearers, and I am really excited to be getting fry so soon!

I posted the picture on my blog, then from my blog I right clicked the picture, and click "copy image URL", then pasted it into the "Insert Image" option on the editor here!

Update on the topic:

She was giving birth before I got her!! The old owner found a fry when she was cleaning out the tank! Is there something wrong, or is it the stress from the move the reason she's not dropping?

She probably ate the rest of the fry... They eat their fry a lot so unless you have cover for the fry, they're a meal for the mother too.

Okay, well I have two others ready to give birth soon.
Cool.
My lyretail gave birth to a ton of fry and I STILL have a bunch of them hanging out with the hoplo and going into the bushes.
To add to that, my red swordie is due this or next week... o_O more fry...

lol I have my 7 female platys, and 1 male, I had to take the male out for now. I'm also going to be getting 6 female guppies with my 3 males. So many fry...

Even if you took him out... those females will be birthing fry for 6 months. LOL!

I know, I only took him out because he was harassing the female that I thought was about to give birth. I guess she's just staying big for a little while... So he might have been mating with her, not chasing her around waiting to eat the babies like I thought  Oh well! I was thinking about selling some of the extras to a local pet store for store credit, if they'll agree to it. I know somebody who works at a pet store, so I'm going to talk to them. My mom wants to use some as feeder platys, and feeder guppies for her ducks when I get over run, but I'd still like to get some money off of them if possible, fish are expensive! :p
