Hi all, I'm looking forward to learning some vital information on here. I have been running my 35 gallon for five weeks... cycled and all inhabitants doing well- 6 tiger barbs, 1 albino rainbow shark, 1 spiny eel (macrognathus circumcinctus), 1 large fem. bamboo shrimp. Anubias, anacharis, a grass-ish looking crypt plant, and some ciliata. The eel is the most challenging- prefers frozen blood worms, which must be hand fed due to aggressive feeding behavior of the barbs. He seems to eat small pieces of food off the side of the tank, however not sure about this. Just got an airstone, should I turn it off periodically? Thinking about adding zebra danios and leaving it at that. Suggestions appreciated.
Welcome to the forum! About the airstone as long as its not making a current that looks like the fish are unhappy with then leave it run all the time. I have one in two of my tanks and there always running.
Thanks for the responses. Hope everybody had a good Thanksgiving. If I saw the eel aggressive enough to eat danios I would be delighted since he is so young at the moment... I do want to add a small fast fish to entertain the Barbs. They are enjoying the air stone, which the shrimp also feeds from... The dang thing is just too loud. Cheers!
