Hello I have just got a 50 gal tank and am wondering what to start off with, any advice for a beginner ps its already cycling

When you say it's already cycling - are you adding bottled ammonia to the tank water?

Once we're sure you've got the hang of cycling (it can be easily misunderstood by newcomers to the hobby!), we need to know the dimensions of the tank (length for swimming and depth of water are more important for stocking than volume) and whether your water is hard or soft (it's better to keep fish that naturally like the type of water you have)

As said above, you definitely must get your head around the tank cycling process, this will help a massive amount right from the beginning. 
 
Do you have any idea of what you would like to stock it with and the folks on here can perhaps let you know if your stocking plan would be appropriate to your tank specs?
