they're next on my purchase list when i get to the pet shop.Christmas week with work is manic though. Do you think i should wait a few weeks before adding to t he tank as there were 3 other ones i was hoping to get for her.

Don't add any more fish until you have test kits for ammonia and nitrite.
 
Poor water quality kills more fish than anything else, and you desperately need to be able to test the water to keep your current, and any future, fish healthy.
