They are Dwarf Gourami, not Discus. Two males will often fight with each, that could also be your problem.

Would this be caused by them moving tanks at all and how do i tell if they are males?
If they were both males it could be unfortunate- seeing as my gran and aunt bought them we called them kit and teresa :)

Yeh no there not Discus! A Discus is about £30-50 and a Dwarf Gourami is about £5.

They both look male as females have quite boring coloration's http://www.aquariumfish.net/catalog_pages/gouramis/dwarf_gouramis.htm
If they are fighting and infact your water parameters are okay then you can take one back. They are fine being the only Gourami in the tank.

This is mine who is the only Dwarf Gourami in the tank and he's happy about it!

Right results are in. Alkalinity <25mg /l .ph is 8though which I don't get. Think you may be right about the fighting. Just saw the other go over and nudge it

Is it possible for it to have an imbalance affecting it's coordination as it swims fine but when it rests it drop to one side?

Do you have test kits for ammonia and nitrite?

Well the fish made it through another night.was feeding but still resting on its side when it stops swimming.

What kind of test kit did you get, liquid or strips? Can you test for ammonia and nitrite (not nitrate)?

It was a liquid kit i got. They didn't have the ammonia one and said the nitrate kit would give the same indications? The other guys are all fine but i dunno is it after becoming submissive seeing as both as males and i've seen the other guy nudging him a bit

Those dwarf gouramis look like cobalt blue dwarf gouramis. I sooo love those :D

Ya my daughter loves them and the red stripes look really mad under the flouresent light.Would hate to lose one of them

Well after my best attempts the fish died. I think I'll keep to the one gourami as ye said. Thanks for all your help. The rest are doing great

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear this! :rip:

Next time you're at your LFS, it would pay to get the ammonia and nitrite test kits. Nitrate does not give a good indication of these, as most nitrate tests are inaccurate and if your tank is uncycled then you can get ammonia and nitrite spikes without a reading of nitrate.
