Well I had a Fluval Chi 17L and had problems with the filter stopping and starting on it's own accord. Even with advice from here to clean the impeller it still kept doing it after a few days. So I took the whole tank back to Pet's at Home.

So I choose a 35L Marina tank and stand as it was only working out £50 dearer than I'd spent already. Have got it built and just about to read the instructions on the lighting etc. But my surprise was at the till the manager gave me the stand free because of the filter failing I guess. Was well chuffed. He helped me choose some new plants, no idea what they are but said he has them in his tank. So I'll spend the next few hours setting up and then get a pic.

Wonder what Zorro and mates will think of their new home!! They are currently in my mop bucket with the heater in lol.

Sounds like a real bargain to me :)
Its a great feeling getting a new tank especially at a great price.
I always get on well with the Pets at Home people.

I know a lot of people have real issues with PAH but mines is fine and the staff are good. Not forever changing staff either. Any time I've ever had a problem with their live animals they've listened and sorted it.

Blimey, a pro-P@H thread - I never thought I'd live to see one of those! :D

My local Pets at Home seem a good bunch too. Tanks are always clean and the fish look healthy. Don't recall more than one premature death of fish bought from there.

How much should the stand have been? Sounds as though you've got yourself a bargain. Happy planning. :)

Stand should have been £40 :good:

Taken me an hour to decide where to put the tank after re-arranging my work area around it I'm now happy. Light works, it's a day glow bulb too. Think that should be good,.

nice to get good feed back! I (for my sins) work at PAH!

Did a video of new tank. Shrimps are loving it and haven't stopped swimming around since I put them in. Danios seem pleased with the new leg room. But Zorro spent the first half hour flaring at himself. He came down for a little while, then went back to flaring. Only difference I can think of is this tank has a background and the other one didn't.

So the manager at p@h adviced you of the plants, well once again it shows that the majority of staff who work there have not got a clue, two out of the three plants in there are non aquatic and will rot down and and cause an ammonia spike, the two in question are the variegated pair at the back of the tank, pull them out put them in a plant pot on the bathroom window ledge and they will do well, sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Was waiting on someone telling me that. Saw another thread with the same plants in it. Will inform him of this error. I have removed them. Must go searching for something else. I only bought two types.
