the other week i decided to change from community to lake malawi cichlids, i have 4 pairs, 2 kribs, 2 yellow labs but i cant remember the names of the other 2 pairs. 2 of them are like peachy coloured n the other 2 are orange with 3 yellow dots on the fin under their body.i need some more fish as i want more colours any one got any good suggestions??

heres my tank btw

Peachy coloured and orange with spots btw the spots are call egg spots mate but sounds to me like the same fish metriaclima estherae or red zebra. You may want to take the kribs out of the tank they wont do well in an mbuna tank. Nice looking tank aswell mate what size is it?

updated my pic today as i went the the lfs and got a new plant and 2 new fish they very small blue ones. the peachy ones are albino cichlids.found out today here are the fish closer

can anyone tell wot they all are??

the tank is 54 litres

cant see the blue ones well enough to tell you but you have:
yellow labs the yellow with the black line on the dorsal fin
kribs the ones with purple you need to remove these from the tank they will get killed
red zebra which are you orange 2
the albino could be a albino greshakie and blue ones could be callainos but need to see a clearer pic

the kribs have been in over a week now and have had no trouble, want to add more rock etc as i feel it looks empty

looks good, yeah the kribs probably won't last much longer mate, once the malawi's start establishing territories they'll start attacking them

seriously mate a week is no time at all read about kribs on here in the profile section that will also back up me and wiggly here they shouldnt be with malawis

Does it occur to anyone that this tank is too small..WAY TOO SMALL. am I correct that it's 14.21 USgallons?? Please someone tell me i'm wrong if I am.

Lets skip the fact that kribs arent even malawi and they'll get beat up like a red headed step child but the size of this tank is paramount to a human living in a shoe box...

Do more research before dumping in any cute fish you see in a tiny tank thats best left for a hospital tank or even shell dwellers would be better suited for this tank.

another thing I noticed, on one of your pictures the glass looks like it has HAIR on it, are these small, tiny little glass worms? If so, thats called PLANERIA and is a result of bad water conditions...

god didn't even spot the size, yup 54l is nowhere big enough, were holding off doing malawi's until we have at least 55g

oh i love the humour glad your back but how about we lay off the red headed step child remark i have red hair well african sunset and im not bullied :p anyways didnt even know the tank was so small so looks like you need to return all the fish apart from the kribs now or stock with something else totaly.

 thats a new one on me!

**HUGS** to mark, your our favorite AFRICAN SUNSET redheaded step child that ISNT BULLIED!!!

why get rid of the fish when they can get a head start on the MTS and buy a bigger (55gallon +) now! LOL!!!! :D

Just to add a word about the tank- as these experienced posters have already pointed out, it is too small for the cichlids you have in it and you need to do something urgently (ie return the fish) as they will soon start establishing territories.

Still, all is not lost as far as this tank goes, nor does it have to be relegated to the place of a hospital tank (though this is certainly something every fishkeeper should have). If you want to keep African cichlids in it, it is an adequate size for a colony of Tanganyikan shelldwellers, like neolamprologus multifasciatus. Not as colourful as the ones you've got, but absolutely tons of character. Fella knows all about these and would no doubt be happy to fill you in.
