New tank

I just git a new tank....salt water...and the back left corner of the tnak is blocked off with dividers and at the bottom of the tank in these dividers is a threaded hole going all the way through the tank....what is it for and what equipment do u need for it to work porperly?

Sounds like it's been drilled to allow for a sump tank.

A sump tank would be a second, usually smaller, tank that sits underneath the main tank that can house a number of different things. In reef setups it will often house the skimmer, heater and a kind of macro-algae to aid in nutrient takeup. It may also hold a deep sand bed or extra liverock.
