Well I'm moving soon back to parents (after ten years should be interesting) and i thought its about time i upgraded my tank at the mo i have a hagen 1200 deep good tank but a bit plain so i need another 4ft tank i can set up before i move, so here are the choices.

1. juwel rio 300

2. juwel vision 260

3. Aquatlantide evasion 120

I was also thinking about putting 1 glass divider in my 4ft and then 2 removable dividers so i can 4 small fry tanks or 2 when they get a bit bigger.

So what do you lot think.

P.S this will take it to 5 tanks may need that program for mts

The Evasion tanks are really nice but i'd be tempted by the rio 300 just for sheer size and volume at a pretty good price.

The divider idea sounds good as a fry tank although its a decent sized tank to use for this purpose, are you not tempted to re-stock it with something different? :hyper:

I really need some space for the fry i had my first f1 on Saturday a batch of 25! i had to strip her after 2 weeks i thought her mouth was going to split !.

Im also still planning on getting a 8x2x2 tank when i move again so the next tank can be stocked with something else or maybe a salt water

For the 8 footer, i'd definately go with marine. I setup a 24 gal nano tank a few months back and i aleady want a really big marine tank. :hyper:

Imagine the cost the electric bill for getting light through 2ft of water.

I think the 8ft will be a mbuna set up

the 4ft marine

old 4ft fry

Still left with a 15g a 10g and a 6g Mmm

T5's will do the job no problem and shouldn't cost that much. I have 4 ordinary T8's in my 125 and thats 2 foot deep - lights up the whole tank just fine. :good:

Are there any photo's of your tanks anywhere Ferris, would love to see them :)

I posted some vids a while back, i'll get some up to date shots of all 4 and make a new post. :D

Decided to go for the evasion 120 ,might try lava rock and Tahiti moon sand this time should make the fish really stand out and its a hell of a lot lighter to lift out :D .

I thought for s/w tanks you had to have halides for coral growth at that depth

I like the idea of the Tahitian sand. I've seen it used in a couple of tanks and it gives quite a stunning effect.

you dont really NEED halides, some ppl swear by them others not so much. if you wanna grow hard corals then halides are essential but you can easily grow softies with T8/T5's.

i use 3xT8's on my 3ft reef tank and they are fine. on a 2ft deep tank i would go for the T5's get as many watts per gallon as possible.
