New Tank Set Up, But What Now?

right so having problems locating any saulosi, but i can find theses DAMASONI. I believie they are also a dwarf Cichlid, but need to be kept in numbers of around 12.

Does anyone have any experiance of these?   Ideally would love some bright colours, thats why i rather liked the idea of the Saulosi

incidently my local FS recommended yellow labs

Yellow labs are quite mellow for mbuna. Some people mix them with demasoni which look nice. Yes, 12 is ideal but note they are quite aggressive and you could end with one. If you have a look on Aquarist classified im sure youll find some salousi. I think i saw some the other day. Cheers

Demasoni need to be heavily overstocked and should be left alone unless you have a lot of experience, really. Yellow labs are indeed generally mellow for Mbuna but they're too big for your tank unless you're happy to just have a male and three females.

Are you in the uk ? If you're not against having fish posted you get get saulosi f1s at northants Malawi

thank you everyone, i need to get something soon before the bacteria in the tank die of...

Keep them well fed until there's fish in there. Household ammonia or a pinch of fish food now and then will tide them over.

got some jalo and some saulosi 15 in total....all babies..the guy tells me they mix well so trust him...

i use my filter out pipe spray bar under the water to direct the current towards the filter intake. Do you think i should redirect at least one part (spray bar is in 2 bits), upwards to break the surface?

Cheers

its not really as i have them both pointed at quite a steep angle to cover the full tank
