OK .... decided the tank is too small (30" and 220 litres)
BUT ... The TV is showing signs of failing soon - TV repair will cost more than set is worth.
SO .... I can either
1) Buy a new tank
2) Buy a new 42 - 50" HD TV + 'modified' Sky HD off E-Bay (we have Sky+ already)
I have the chance currently of 2 tanks, one is a Juwel Vision 450 (5ft) (See Here), the other is an Aqualantide Elite 200 (See Here) (6ft+) the Aqaulantide is only going to cost £600, special deal because new but lighting bits missing (£600 is the max price I may even get it for less!), the Juwel is £500.
The TV and Sky HD will be between £900 and £1100
If I buy the tank I can't afford the TV, if I buy the TV I can't afford either tank. I could take the chance on the tank and hope the TV lasts the 5 or 6 months needed to build the reserves again but this seems unlikely the way it has gone this week.
The wife is getting a bit anti fish at the moment because of how much I spend both in money and time on them so there is a potential for a new tank to have serious political implications, I don't need to discuss a new tank I already know the answer, she has suggested getting rid several times now - and it is easier to get forgiven than it is to get permission.
However she isn't a fan of replacing the TV with something so expensive either, she claims not to be able to tell the difference between standard TV and HD, her opinion is if you can see a picture whats your problem - quality of image for her is not a consideration - its almost like the age old red car, yellow car, blue car jokes - the car is crap but she likes the colour .... again it is probably easier to get forgiven than it is to get permission but would be easier than the tank - especially the 6 and a half footer.
