New Tank = New Buddies?

My betta is in a 21L Hex at the moment with two large Amano shrimp.

I am considering getting a regular shape 28L/7g aquarium, for various reasons, including removing my real plants from my 50g as my juvie Sevs are eating them

Would I be able to add any buddies in there?

28ltr, could have your betta, amanos (possibly add 4 more amanos) and 4 julii corys/pygmy corys.

Trouble with the Amanos as I never see any of a decent size, they are less than an inch, and I think Sherbert would eat them. I think I've seen Julii Corys locally though

nah, amanos grow to 2", bettas won't bother them. Amanos put up a pretty good fight, believe me, i've bore witness to that

No, I meant a good enuf size to go with my current bruisers My Amanos are around 2" and Sherb would not dare touch them. They even nick pellets off him.
All I see in the shops are 1/4" Amanos.

It will be fine, enough hiding places and it will pair up with your current ones
